Copyright, content and takedown policy

1. What Free TV does

Free TV helps users discover and open media made available through third-party websites and services. Links and catalogue information may come from public web indexes, open-source projects, community submissions or other internet sources.

Unless we state otherwise, Free TV does not upload, own or store the video and audio delivered by those third parties. Playback may connect directly to an external provider, which remains responsible for its servers, availability and delivery.

Finding material on the public internet does not necessarily mean that it is in the public domain or licensed for every use. Users must make sure they have the right to access content in their location.

2. Ownership and third-party services

Programme names, channel marks, artwork, logos and other trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in search results or catalogue listings does not imply sponsorship, endorsement or partnership with Free TV.

External sources may change, restrict or remove content without notice. Free TV cannot guarantee:

• that a stream will remain available or play at a particular quality;
• that third-party metadata is complete or accurate;
• that content is available in every country;
• that an external provider has cleared every right connected to a stream; or
• that an external service will be secure, uninterrupted or free of advertising.

3. Acceptable use

Free TV is intended for lawful personal use, including access to public-domain material, freely licensed media and content the viewer is otherwise entitled to watch.

You may not use Free TV to infringe copyright, bypass access controls, redistribute protected streams, conduct unlawful commercial activity or access material prohibited by applicable law. Geographic or account restrictions imposed by a content provider remain the user's responsibility.

4. Copyright and removal requests

A copyright owner or authorised representative may ask us to remove or disable a link available through Free TV. To help us identify the material and assess the request, the notice should include:

1. the claimant's full name, organisation (if applicable), email address and another reliable contact method;
2. a clear description of the copyrighted work;
3. the exact Free TV page, title, channel or catalogue entry concerned;
4. the third-party streaming URL, where available;
5. evidence of ownership or authority to act for the owner;
6. a statement that the claimant has a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
7. a statement that the information in the notice is accurate; and
8. a physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may delay our response. If the complaint concerns media hosted by another service, contacting that hosting provider directly may lead to faster removal at the source.

After receiving a reasonably complete and credible notice, we may disable the relevant link while we review the claim. We may also request clarification or forward the notice to the person or service that supplied the link where appropriate.

5. Other removal and safety actions

We may remove or restrict access to links after receiving a valid legal order, a substantiated request from a rights holder, or credible information that content is illegal, harmful or unsafe. We may also act when a source presents a security risk to users.

Affected contributors may provide evidence that they are authorised to make the content available. Restoration is not automatic and depends on the facts, provider status and applicable legal requirements.

Free TV and third-party links are provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty about availability, accuracy, quality, legality or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing on this page limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
